The wind

A week straight of water time really helps to advance your level. Our camps provide an empowering group setting to learn beginner to advanced skills. You can expect us to be on the beach or the water for 2-4 hours/day (conditions permitting) where we will offer extra support and pointers for jump-starting your progression. We have over 30+ years of combined windsports experience and bring this expertise to your most difficult hurdles. Spend a week with us to receive consistent and thoughtful feedback and incorporate these pointers into your kiteboarding at your own pace throughout the camp.

Example trip goals: Gain confidence, meet friends, first jumps, riding toeside, upwind progression, backrolls, unhooked tricks, getting comfortable on your surfboard, learning to ride a foil board, jumping higher, have a great vacay!

The air temp is warm and water is cool-ish. Bring your bikinis + board shorts & tanks for mornings in the sun and your full 3/2 wetsuit and hoodies for when the wind picks up.

About La ventana

La Ventana is a laid back fishing village & now kiteboarding town located on the Baja Californa Sur peninsula located about 2 1/2 hours from Cabo San Lucas. As the thermal picks up around mid morning, the wind funnels between the mainland and Cerralvo Island and blows side onshore consistently from November to April. The Sea of Cortez has been referred to as “the world’s aquarium” due to the abundance of sea life.

The Wind:

The peak of the windy season is December to March.  It is typically a mid day thermal that gets accelerated by a venturi effect as the wind sucks onshore between the island and mainland.  Typical sessions start around 11am and last until the sun starts to set at about 5pm. The wind is side-on-shore from the Northeast direction.

The Digs:

Stay on the beach with kiteboarding at your doorstep at The Kite House at Casa Cortez. Luxury private rooms provide all the amenities along with a outdoor jacuzzi, lounge chairs, yoga studio.

Meet Brandon

Brandon Scheid is a renowned figure in the world of windsports, having clinched numerous championship titles, been named AWSI Athlete of the Year twice and has been featured on the cover of countless magazines.

He finds immense purpose in teaching others and has a unique ability to distill complicated concepts into easily understandable language. His instruction is precise, helpful and empowering.

Brandon brings a level of stoke that is unparalleled and his life mission is to help other humans get more quality time on the water. We’re stoked to have him as a special guest coach for this super week!

MEET NADJA

Our pro coach Nadja grew up in a small town in the Southern part of Austria, bordering Italy and Slovenia. Surrounded by the alps, beautiful mountains and lakes she always loved the outdoors. Nadja grew up skiing, snowboarding and dancing ballet.

In 2015, she moved to California where she took her first kiteboarding lesson and hasn't stopped ever since. Over the past three years, she has been traveling around the world teaching kiteboarding, training and competing.

In 2019, she won the Triple S open and since then has been showcased in several Kiteboarding magazines. She is sponsored by Naish Kiteboarding and Mystic.

Nadja loves progressing in the sport and learning new disciplines, however, her true passion is to teach and help others enjoy kiteboarding as much as she does.
